Season Opening will be greener than ever
“Spring is sooner recognized by plants than men.”
With Caponi Art Park so vibrantly blooming before the season opening, this Chinese proverb has never rung truer.
You are invited to celebrate the park’s season kickoff on Saturday, May 1st at a Spring Open House with family-friendly activities from 11:00am – 4:00pm. Event is free and open to the public. The focus of the open house is history and “the story of Caponi Art Park” to commemorate the Theater in the Woods 10th anniversary, Eagan’s 150th birthday, and the official rerelease of Anthony Caponi’s book “Voice from the Mountains.” The highlight of the event will be book readings, Q&A’s and book signings with the author scheduled at Noon and 2:00pm. Books will be for sale all day for $20.
Other activities for visitors to enjoy include:
- “Discover the Art Park” scavenger hunt;
- Children’s book-making activity;
- Historical videos in the sculpture studio;
- 2010 Photo Contest opening;
- Light refreshments donated by Dunn Bros Coffee & Cub Foods in the Sculpture Garden.

WCCO's "Finding Minnesota" feature
If you missed this TV segment that aired on Sunday's evening newscast featuring the Art Park with anchor Angela Davis and Tony Caponi, you can view it at Finding Minnesota.

"Here, I like to say, be human now. Relax. Let all your feelings come out," said Anthony Caponi, the park's founder. "Say what you please. Everything is OK. The place is friendly. You are not being tested. You are not being evaluated. That's the way the place works."
