Travel to Brazil this Sunday

Ticket to Brasil

Experience the sounds of Brazil without having to travel far: On Sunday, July 26 at Caponi Art Park, Ticket to Brasil will take you on an inspiring journey to South America through the world of Brazilian music, including Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz. Explore the history and evolution of this diverse and colorful musical genre. Concert begins at 6:30pm in the Theater in the Woods amphitheater. In the event of rain, the performance will be held Sun., August 16.

Ticket to Brasil is a Bossa Nova, Samba and Brazilian Jazz ensemble created around a collective love for the celebration of rhythm. The group was founded by jazz guitarist, percussionist and composer Pavel Jany, and it is currently based in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Ticket to Brasil has opened for renowned artists Karrin Allyson and Cibelle, and performed at a number of local and international events, including: the Winnipeg, Sioux Falls and Grand Marais Jazz Festivals, Hot Summer Jazz Festival, MN Orchestra MusicFest, Ordway World Stage Festival, Bloomington Latin Music Festival and MN Winter Jazz Festival.

Concert is FREE and open to the public. A $4 per person donation is suggested and helps to makes this program possible. Visit Summer Performance Series for more info.

Contest runs through October 11, 2009.
