Dear Friends of the Caponi Art Park,

Some of you may have noticed the lovely and helpful improvements the Art Park has seen over the past month. Park maps and information are now available in the main parking lot for visitors. Pick up a map and take a self-guided tour or grab a schedule of this season’s events.

The Art Park is vibrant with color thanks to the help of our many volunteers who were willing to get a little dirty and work hard. We would especially like to thank Gertens Greenhouse for donating 50 Junipers for the amphitheater and the BlueCross BlueShield and UPS employees who helped garden and remove Buckthorn. These community contributions are making the Art Park a more beautiful place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature and art in its many forms.

Speaking of art, come out and enjoy the Summer Performance Series beginning this Sunday. The South of the River Band will kick off the series followed by the Minnesota Sinfonia later this month. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and experience these local gems in a setting like no other.

Shakespeare Festival
You will laugh, you might cackle, but you most definitely will agree that Shakespeare’s comedies are best when performed outdoors. If you’ve never seen Shakespeare in the woods, the Shakespeare Festival is a must. See details under Upcoming Events.

And finally, we want to introduce more people to the park. If you belong to a neighborhood association or homeowner’s group or if your employer could broadcast the electronic newsletter to your coworkers, drop us an email with the contact information. That website again is www.caponiartpark.org. The newsletter will keep you informed of upcoming events and rain dates if needed.

Come for the art, stay for the fun!
