“Lend me your ears”! Caponi Art Park is presenting the annual Shakespeare Festival June 26 & 27, 2009. Enjoy some “elbow room” on a grassy knoll and don’t “budge and inch” or you’ll miss a laugh or two. The Shakespeare Festival is sure to you leave you “as merry as the day is long”!

"The Taming of the Shrew" // Friday, June 26 @ 6:30pm
Never afraid to push the boundaries of tradition, Chameleon Theatre Circle gives Shakespeare’s classic comedy “The Taming of the Shrew” an Old West flavor. The cast will trade in capitano hats, tunics and swords for cowboy hats, chaps and lassos bringing the wild west to Caponi Art Park.

"The Tempest" // Saturday, June 27 @ 6:30pm
Cromulent Shakespeare Company presents a more traditional version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “The Tempest.” Get caught up in the tempest’s storm and revel in the revenge of the half-human Caliban and the magician Prospero.

Performances are FREE and open to the public. A $4 per person suggested donation helps to makes this program possible. Visit Shakespeare Festival for more info.

All of the programs offered at Caponi Art Park are free to the public. We strongly believe in making the Art Park an affordable and accessible cultural center – a value we feel more committed to than ever during these challenging times.
