Escape to a place where chivalry is alive and well, and where lords and ladies enjoy combat tournaments of honor and valor: it’s time for the annual Medieval Fair! The Barony of Nordskogen chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a historical recreation group, brings the Middle Ages to life in the woods of Caponi Art Park on Sunday, September 27.

Authentic pavilions will be on display in a Medieval Village as artisans and noblemen in period dress present interactive demonstrations to the public, including armored and rapier combat, weaponry and armorers (NEW!), music and dance, cooking, period games (NEW!), bone carving, fiber arts and more. A fun and educational event for all ages!

Medieval Fair runs 12:00 – 4:00pm and is FREE and open to the public. A $4 per person donation is suggested to help make this program possible. Medieval Fair will go on rain or shine, except with severe weather or heavy rain.

The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international organization (30,000 members) dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, and various workshops.
