New Sculpture Installation at the Art Park

New InstallationIt has been a busy summer, filled with more than 20 performances, one hundred tours, and thousands of visitors. Some of our visitors may have noticed a transformation taking place in the woods on the sculpture garden side of Caponi Art Park and Learning Center.

Anthony Caponi, the park's founder and artistic director, has been busy developing a new installation with "Praying Mantis," a sculpture he made years ago from car parts. The piece was stolen from a private home in the Twin Cities, held for ransom, and later dropped off a highway bridge in St. Paul. "Praying Mantis" has made a long odyssey which came to an end when its owner donated it to the Art Park. This spring, Anthony Caponi spent hours repairing dents and restoring the sculpture. Come check out the new, permanent installation at Caponi Art Park during park hours!
