Philemon and Baucis

Tickets available here!

The Mixed Precipitation team returns with a new adaptation of Joseph Haydn’s rarely performed marionette opera, Philemon and Baucis, created with Elizabeth Windnagel, Scotty Reynolds, music director Gary Ruschman. Expect a heartfelt and hilarious space-age adventure featuring chef created bites to tell the story.

Returning from space exploration in a far off galaxy, gods Jupiter and Mercury return to earth to find humanity decimated by plague. Surviving citizens are cold, suspicious and hooked on banality.  Our gods-in-disguise prowl about town looking for someplace to unveil their gender-bending extravaganza. No one will give them a chance but the down-trodden tavern of Philemon and Baucis.

Featuring the music of Haydn and Queen (yes, that means German opera with the music of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon).
