Caponi on the Road will bring the art park to you. Experience the beauty and creativity of Caponi Art Park without making travel plans. Your group will experience Caponi Art Park through photographs, park facts, and a small sculpture by the park’s founder. You’ll explore the connections between art and nature, all at your site.

Caponi on the Road workshops are inclusive of all individuals and groups. We work closely with you to adapt the park experience to your site and program goals. Our staff has years of experience teaching art to participants of all ages and abilities. Our teachers combine art history, nature appreciation, and engaging projects to provide an inclusive, creative learning experience. Our workshops run 45-60 minutes.

SPECIALIZED OFFERINGS

In addition to the workshops listed here, we have a range of workshops designed specifically for participants with disabilities. Participants in Caponi on the Road workshops learn about art through nature-based lessons. Their appreciation for art will flourish and their understanding of art concepts and techniques will grow. We will work with you to make sure your workshops meet the unique needs of your group.

  • We will ask for an estimated number of participants to be sure we have the right amount of staff and workshop materials.
  • If we’re bringing the park to you, We ask that you provide a space, indoors or out, that is large enough for your group to fully participate in the activities.

We charge a fee for all traveling programs based on the standard IRS mileage reimbursement rate of $0.70 per mile round trip from the art park to your site.

Please note that some of the workshops, like Nature Journals, work best in outdoor spaces.

CAPONI ON THE ROAD POLICIES

To schedule a tour and workshop for your group please call the park at 651-454-9412 or email erin@caponiartpark.org. Tours can be scheduled any time the park is open, except during public performances and events.

Change in the Number of Participants: If you know the size of your group will be significantly different than your original estimate, please contact us as soon as possible. If your group is considerably smaller without letting us know ahead of time, we will charge you for the number of participants in your original estimate.

Rescheduling Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule your visit, please let us know as soon as possible.

Weather Policy: If severe weather is predicted that would prevent you from having a safe visit at the park, or keep park staff from traveling to your site, we will contact you at least two hours prior to your visit to reschedule. If you have concerns, please contact us at least two hours prior to your workshop.

Payment Policy: You will be invoiced for the number of participants after your workshop.

COVID-19 Policies and Protocols: We follow current CDC guidelines when interacting with the public. We know that each group is different and we are happy to adapt our protocols to fit your needs. For more information please contact the park.
