Tree of Life

What is seen here is the cement Caponi used to support the original  30-feet tall column of figures he carved from an oak tree that stood in this spot.

Caponi created Tree of Life to give new life to the first tree he saw die on the property from oak wilt. This was the beginning of Caponi’s artistic vision for the property. Over time carpenter ants ate through the wood and all that remains is this reminder of the first sculpture created at Caponi Art Park.
