Caponi Art Park’s Racial Equity and Inclusion Statement

Caponi Art Park is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive experience for everyone through the context of art and nature. Caponi Art Park acknowledges the original people of the land, and openly invites all people, including people who have been historically underserved and underrepresented in our community, to fully participate in our shared vision. Our vision nurtures and restores the human spirit through its blending of art, nature, and community.

Caponi Art Park is taking purposeful action and focusing resources to advance this commitment by:

  • Reviewing its programs, events and educational offerings through a lens of equity and inclusion regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender or other factors.
  • Working with community to co-create and guide the development of performances, programs educational offerings and promotional messaging to ensure that each reflects the principles of equity and access that honors all community members.
  • Changing the methods for developing policies and procedures that advocates for racial equity including diversifying leadership within our Board, staff, volunteers, and advisory committees.
  • Developing and employing a tool that measures progress and evaluates outcomes.

Caponi Art Park realizes this work is an ongoing journey and we are committed to learning, evolving, practicing and taking action to move our organization forward to achieving racial equity and inclusion for all people in our community regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender or other factors.
